A simple daily duck care routine
A calm morning-to-evening routine that keeps the important things covered.
Clear, practical starting points from Alford Ducks. Every flock and set-up is different, so ask a qualified vet or experienced professional if something does not feel right.
Check the flock, not just the feed bowl
Look at how each duck is standing, walking, eating and drinking. Bright eyes, normal movement and usual behaviour are useful everyday signs to notice.
Refresh food and water
Ducks need easy access to fresh feed and clean water. Adult ducks need water deep enough to rinse their eyes and bills, with enough space to avoid crowding.
Finish with a safe bedtime check
Bring the flock into secure shelter, count them, and make sure the house is dry, calm and protected for the night.
